The 8^th Annual David Mann Chopperfest injected some life and excitement into the Ventura County Fairgrounds on December 11^th and the PM truck was parked under the palms to bear witness to the good times, passing out more of our award-winning catalogs to the multitude of bike fans in attendance. Perhaps you recall our introductory post back on October 26^th, where we unveiled our latest design in our collection of air cleaners, the Merc, and you may have even wondered how such a sleek, gleaming product comes to be. Well wonder no longer, for we have the entire process neatly encapsulated in a minute and a half available for your viewing pleasure:

With the holidays just around the bend, there are a few dates on the Performance Machine calendar that require some attention:

• We will be closed on Thursday 11/24 and Friday 11/25 in observance of Thanksgiving, so if you’re struck by the desire to place an order for some new wheels after that third slice of pumpkin pie, please recall that we are most likely deep into a turkey coma ourselves.
• Physical Inventory from Thursday 12/1 to Monday 12/5 requires for us to be closed for shipping, invoicing, returns, or any other activity that would result in product being moved around. Therefore, if you have an order that absolutely must get allocated before December is in full swing, make sure to get that settled between Thanksgiving and Physical Inventory (11/28-11/30). Trust us, we hate inventory too, but on the bright side, we will be in office to answer any technical or sales questions.
• A few weeks later, we will be closed on Thursday 12/23 and Monday 12/26, to enjoy gifts and face time with family and once again on Monday 01/02, to sleep off the copious amounts of champagne.

In short, it’s a busy holiday season, both for us here at Performance Machine and all of you out there, but we are committed to being here for any questions or wish lists you may have.

As the announcement of the first heat for the finals was announced, streams of spectators poured into the stands to catch all of the action, of which they found in plenty. Each time the riders lined up at the start, figuratively chomping at the bit; even to the untrained eyes of the casual spectator, their anticipation was obvious. It was not the night to hold back, riders skidded wildly around the turns, hoping to gain the edge on their competition; more than one bike went down and almost immediately sprang back up. No one was willing to accept even the merest suggestion of defeat. After a thrilling final race, Billy “the Kid” Janniro triumphed, holding on to his title as U.S. National Speedway Champion.

Between the Performance Machine booth, and friends in the stands, the PM family was out in full force, eager to catch the culmination of a season’s worth of excitement and action. At the booth, an autographed helmet belonging to “Gorgeous” Gary Hicks was on display before it is to be auctioned. Stay tuned for more information regarding how to participate in the auction.

All in all, it was a fantastic night at the track. In addition to the championship races, Pee Wee riders delighted the crowd and the Youth division rode a hard couple of races, pulling off maneuvers that only the daring of youth can afford, with the night eventually going to Hayley Perrault, the first female rider at the Costa Mesa Speedway. Congratulations Hayley!

This Saturday is the Fall Classic, closing out a thrilling season we here at Performance Machine have been honored to have been a part of. Doors open at 6pm, first race is at 7:30pm.
