If a week has 10 days, then the 70th edition of the Daytona Bike Week is accurately named. We could be sticklers and call it the “Daytona Bike Week-Plus” or maybe the “Daytona Bike Week and a Half,” but what’s the point?
The point is, this is one of the two biggest motorcycle rallies of the year and it runs from this Friday (March 4) through Sunday, March 13 on the strand in Daytona, Florida. And Performance Machine will be right in the thick of things, working — and playing — out of our gigantic blue- and black-flamed PM semi-tractor. Once again our show crew will be parked at Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona and once again we’ll be selling plenty of premium parts and installing them right before your eyes.
We’re prepared to turn your ride into a Performance Machine Edition motorcycle while you mosey around the grounds with 550,000 of your closest friends. We’ve got wheels with factory-mounted tires, matching rotors, and our own PM-branded parts that can be installed on your bike by our expert show crew mechanics. That includes our Seven Wheel and Paramount wheels, our new FASTair Intake Solution air cleaner, and our beautiful Performance Machine exhaust tips.
Highlights for this 70th anniversary party on the beach include some exciting racing, unbelievable motorcycle shows, charity rides, bikini contests, more than 100 taverns and restaurants and some great music. Need to take a break from the action? Head off for a 22-mile ride around the loop, which takes you along the Halifax River, through the Bulow Creek State Park, and within reach of the Atlantic Ocean. There are plenty of places to stop, and you’re certain to be riding next to other Daytona enthusiasts. It’s a nice breather from all the Daytona action.
Maybe you’ll want to top Bike Week off by getting hitched. And by hitched, we’re not talking about your trailer, we’re talking about getting married. At 11 a.m. sharp on March 11, Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona will be host the “World’s Largest Wedding Ceremony/Vow Renewal On Motorcycles.” For more information, check out their YouTube commercial:
So make sure to stop by the Performance Machine truck to pick up a 2011 PM catalog, check out our new Fatboy Low, Sportster 48 and meet your Performance Machine show crew.
Ride safe and we’ll see you at Destination Daytona!
