Performance Machine is saddened to see another American Made industry icon out of the game.  Buell has played a part of its own in PM’s history.  Back in the 1990’s PM had the pleasure of working with Erik Buell and equipping his motorcycles with PM Wheels and Brakes.  We can’t wait to see what Erik Buell offers the motorcycle industry next. Every year Performance Machine (PM) chooses a Harley model for a makeover and then pimps it as a marketing tool, taking it to events all over the country. These bikes often provide the R&D department with feedback for future product offerings. This year’s lab rat was the Rocker, where PM and Roland Sands Design (RSD) turned the Softail into a born-again cruiser with parts from both company’s catalogs. Here are a few pics and a link to the article. Article from HotBikeWeb.com

The Only Chopper Built By Roland Sands By David Zemla with photos from Performance Machine A Tribute During the original chopper craze, some 30 odd years ago, you couldn’t just call up your local mail order company and request a hardtail with a 4” stretch and a 43 degree rake. You had to do it yourself. Since there always has been, and always will be more riders then there are builders, many of them came to guys like Perry Sands. Perry’s first chopper. Perry was never afraid to take a torch to a pristine Knucklehead and kick it out…

Chris Rivas, of Chris Rivas V-Twin.com, set a new World Record at this year’s Bonneville Speed Week.  Chris set the new 3000cc MPS-PG Record at 159.62 MPH.  Chris accomplished his run on a 1999 FLTR with 135 cubic inch stock engines cases.  Chris was able to hold on at top speed thanks to his PM Contour Renthal Rubber Wrapped Grips.  “The bike was flawless at a 165 MPH and stopped on a dime with PM Brake Calipers.” said Chris.  The stock brake configuration on this model comes with dual 4-piston calipers.  Chris’ bike was set up with a single 13″…

Ron Simms of Bay Area Custom Cycle in Hayward, CA, took home the Best PM Equipped Bike trophy at this year’s LA Calendar Bike Show in Long Beach. Ron Simms took the category with a Shovelhead featuring several PM staple products including brake calipers and a set of classic PM 12-Spoke wheels. Originally built in 1974, the bike boasts a 59′ Pan motor with a Shovel top end.  The bike was built as a tribute to Simms’ fallen friend “Rooster”. Ron has been loyal to PM for almost 40 years. He has equipped more of his custom bikes with our product than any other customer. His $5000 product certificate…

So here we are, the first official post on the PM Blog!  Comment, subscribe, keep in touch to see what’s going on over here at PM.  We live and breath motorcycle parts everyday and  want to share our passion with you.  Manufacturing, New Product Development, Events, Custom Bikes, and Burn Outs in the cul-de-sac during our lunch hour…we’ll bring it all!

Performance Machine recently created our very own bike night in order to get some cool shots for our marketing goods. We hired a couple of sexy ladies who didn’t mind posing on PM bikes while Roland and his buddies rode circles around them. We couldn’t keep all the fun to ourselves so we invited Two Wheel Tuner Magazine to come out and cover the event. The result was one hell of a good time and a killer feature in the mag. Check out the photos!

Performance Machine’s passion for cutting-edge products has resulted in another radical Contrast Cut Finish. The Contrast Cut Stealth features an innovative, military grade, anodized coating that is the most durable any motorcycle wheel has ever seen. Contrast Cut Stealth derived its name from the muted, matte black nature of the finish. The black finish on the five directional spokes is machined away exposing the raw aluminum to create a wheel that will do anything but escape observation. The Stealth Finish is available on the Factor Wheel design in 2009.
