Talking about Custom Motorcycle Parts!

Performance Machine’s May Dealer of the Month: Lucky Cycles

Not everyone is “lucky” enough to turn their passion or hobby into a full-time career like Jim Purdy of Lucky Cycles, Performance Machine’s May Dealer of the Month.

Before opening Lucky Cycles, Jim was a D.C. narcotics officer, scrambling to keep drugs and guns off the streets at nighttime in the nation’s capital, and building custom bikes during the day to relieve the stress of the evening job. His interest in bikes began at the age of 7 when his dad built him a custom mini-bike. This led to a motocross racing stint for many years and a knack for customizing cool motorcycles.

Lucky Cycles was born in 2004 after several of his award winning machines convinced Jim to take the plunge and turn his love for motorcycles into a full-time job. He handed in his badge and picked up a wrench, and the rest as they say is history.

Performance Machine is a fan of Lucky Cycles simply because we have a great appreciation for independent bike shops, and Lucky Cycles has a lot to offer, including:

  • Harley-Davidson Service and Customization — Veteran mechanics and an experienced parts department will keep your bike on the road fully dressed with Performance Machine wheels, brakes and accessories.
  • Custom Choppers and Ground Up Builds — If its a one-of-a-kind motorcycle you seek, Lucky Cycles can design and build a motorcycle that will fit your personality and riding style.
  • Insurance and Accident Repair – The folks at Lucky Cycles not only build top-notch motorcycles, but they are also quite good at working with insurance professionals to get your bike fixed up in case of an accident.

Check out Lucky Cycles’ custom builds at www.luckycycles.net or stop by in person at 6981 Briscoes Turn Road, Owings, Md.

Our special thanks to Jim Purdy for his support of the Performance Machine brand. We would also like to thank him for his roadside assistance when his PM sales rep Glenn Micklos blew a tire on his trailer. As fast as Glenn was back on the road, Lucky Cycles might consider adding this service to their repertoire.
