Harley-Davidson recently held its Summer 2011 Dealer Meeting right here in our backyard at the Anaheim Convention Center in Southern California. And since these H-D folks were already in town, we figured we ought to invite them out for a tour of our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities — complete with testing lab — in La Palma, Calif.
We figured right. Dealers from across the United States and from as far away as China and Germany showed up to get a first-hand look at how PM products are tested and engineered, manufactured, polished, assembled and shipped.
And many of these dealers told us they were intrigued by our clean room and our quality testing facilities, with some saying they weren’t used to seeing such strict adherence to these processes at manufacturing plants in their own hometowns. (For the uninitiated, we received our TUV [Technischer Überwachungs-Verein] seal of approval in Europe on eight of our wheel designs at the beginning of 2011, something no other manufacturer in our space can say. In addition to tours of the plant, we had radio station 95.5 KLOS on the grounds, providing music and raffling off T-shirts and opportunities to attend a Cheap Trick concert. We’re hoping the tour proved to be a highlight of the dealer meeting for many of our H-D visitors.[nggallery id=3]
