Throwback Thursday – Easyriders Streamliner

0

With the 2012 BUB Motorcycle Speed Trials coming up this next week we thought it would be a great opportunity to post an old streamliner. This is the Easyriders streamliner that Bob George built with Performance Machine Wheels and Brake setup. Campos rode to a new land speed record of 322 mph back in 1990 and the record stood for 16 years! The many blue lines you see on the side of the bike are the names printed of those who donated money for the project through solicitations from Joe Teresi of Easyriders magazine. The bike was powered by two 1,500cc Harley Shovelhead engines. With a 2,500-lb. dry weight and a length in the mid-20’s, the Easy Rider broke the 12-year-old record—not bad for a bike that was rebuilt with the help of crowd members after it experienced a 300-mph crash on a test run.
